SACRAMENTO, CA (MPG) - Superior Court Judge Kristina B. Lindquist will serve as Presiding Judge over Sacramento County’s Juvenile Court.
Judge Lindquist had been serving as interim Presiding Judge of the Juvenile Court with the elevation of Judge Dena M. Coggins to the federal bench in September.
“I want to thank Judge Lindquist for her recent work in the Juvenile Division and am pleased to make her assignment as Presiding Judge permanent, effective immediately,” said Superior Court Presiding Judge Bunmi O. Awoniyi, who signed the order effective Nov. 12.
Former Gov. Jerry Brown appointed Judge Lindquist to the Sacramento County bench in 2018. Since then, she has presided over traffic arraignments, trials, juvenile dependency, and delinquency matters.
Before joining the judiciary, Judge Lindquist served as the deputy legal affairs secretary for the Office of the Governor, advising on criminal justice issues such as prison inmates' parole consideration and the commutation of sentences. She remained in that position until Brown’s term as governor ended.
Previously, Judge Lindquist served as tax counsel at the State Board of Equalization and worked as staff counsel at the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation.
Judge Lindquist received a B.A. in philosophy and European studies from the University of Notre Dame. She completed a J.D. from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law in 2007.
